Watford U16’s girls were warmly welcomed for their first game of 2023 at Ampthill. With 12 a side it was going to be a fast open game.
Both teams started well and after a couple of breakaway tries Watford were 12-10 up at half time.

Ampthill came out fast in the second half and scored a couple of tries stretching the defence. Watford didn’t give up and had a lot of possession in Ampthill’s 22. With some solid defending and a couple of dropped balls Watford could not convert possession into points.

With Watfords full back stretchered off and with tired legs it was always going to be an uphill battle.

Ampthill were deserved winners.

Miela was Watfords player of the match.
She made some great breaks, turned the ball over well and scored a try.
