The way Junior Rugby is meant to be

Watford went to Stockwood knowing we would be short of players, but safe in the knowledge that Stockwood would help us out as they had their mix A/B squad on hand.
This was a fantastic game from the off with Watford tacking the lead after some good forward work saw the ball spun out to Mr Clancy who finished in fine style. Extras added by JC from out wide. The next period of play was the most pleasing, for ages we have been working on the what the big boys call chaos and the lads seem to have finally grasped the concept as they bashed and crashed their way from just out side the 22 for Darren to score, JC again added the extras. Stockwood then hit back with a couple of scores one of which was converted. With the game evenly matched Jack was tackled just out side third 22 it quickly became clear that all was not well. I won't go into details but I cannot praise the our medical team enmins and even More so the head coach from Stockwood who thankfully is a A and E doctor(credit must also be given to the Stockwood Park U16's who missed their warm up to wait with Jack and act as stretcher carriers) thankfully after a trip to A and E Jack has been given the all clear..
With the game now moved to a different pitch we where treated to a fine piece of individual skill from Joe who after a dodgy scrum got given the ball on our own try line saw the press coming faked to kick and instead broke up field a clever kick over their full back saw sylvan score in the corner, Joe just missed the extras. Stockwood struck straight back with a converted try of their own. Once again our forwards crashed up the middle which resulted in one of the on loan Stockwood lads to score, extras where duly added. Stockwood then made some changes to their back line which saw them run in 3 tries in the last 10 mins.

This was a fantastic game played in the right spirit with both sets of planets giving third all.

Of the 12 players we took to Stockwood 4 are in thier first season playing rugby and have become an integral part of this team.
