Young Watford just come up short

Watford 2nds v biggleswade 3rds

Watford were looking for there 1st win of the season against mid table biggleswade.

Biggleswade started the sharper and from a scrum their bigger pack drove Watford over there own line with the extras added Watford found themselves 0-7 down early in a game once again.

But this rallied a young Watford side and second row and new arrival at radlett road matt surged forward with what is quickly becoming a trademark of his sucked in several defenders. Which allowed 17yr old debutant tullett to ship quick ball out to silver who chipped a delicious ball for centre Jonnie to show unbelievable pace to beat biggleswade defenders to dot down under the sticks. Tullet added the extras 7-7.
Watford with that bit between their teeth launched another savage onslaught on to the ever tiring biggleswade backline. Once again tullet was at the start of a fine Watford move with the ball being passed down the line Liam gave a lovely pop to silver who showed good pace to finish a great team try extras added again Watford were 14-7
Just before the break biggleswade broke through the Watford line to make the score at half time 14-14.

With some rallying words at the break from stand in skip Coxy. the home side scored again after some good forward play and tenacious rucking from the two other debutants on the side Ethan and wilson. The ball was moved out quickly and a lovely line from Jonnie carved open the away sides defence to score in the corner the hardest kick so far was once again slotted 21-14.
In a forever topsy turvy game it was biggleswades turn to score. With a well worked try and conversion once again pinned the home side back and we were back to level 21-21.
The home side showed some superb defence to prevent biggleswade scoring another try but the number 9 creed gave a penalty away in front of the sticks. And with 15 minutes left the kick was slotted 21-24. With the clock ticking Watford hammered the away sides line with no regard for there own safety hit ruck after ruck and line after line finally a strong defence showed a small gap and number 8 Liam pounced to put the Watford boys back in the lead. Tullett again added the extras 28-24.
But once again biggleswade refused to die and with less than 10 remaining did the unthinkable and put themselves in the lead once again 28-31.
Veteran number 9 creed shouted at his fellow WRFC brothers to pick themselves up and go once more as he finished his rousing speech and rose from his tired feet. he was either shot by a sniper or stood up to quick resulting in him fainting and hitting the dirt. Watford and biggleswade came to his aid and he was walked off the pitch and taken to hospital. Thankfully he's alright but the ref decided the game would be called early and with that biggleswade won a hugely entertaining battle were both sides showed they're a team to be reckoned with this season final score 28-31
