Words from George Hicks:
Watford seconds travelled to ovs In their last league of the season in what promised to be a exciting game of rugby.
Ovs started the better of the two sides and attacked watford but the away sides defence holding them off well. Watfords first real chance coming from a good take by watfords young winger and man of the match Rogers storming down the wing but just knocked into touch 5metres from the line watfords next attack again from Rogers this time catching the ball on his own 5 metre line and dancing past several would be tacklers to get Watford out of trouble. But it was ovs who got on the scoresheet first with a penalty in front of the sticks 3-0 ovs . Watford quickly rallied knowing only 3 minutes were left on the clock a beautiful box kick from nine Hopkins was chased by Watford 8 Connelly and 10 Williams Connelly hitting the tackle and Williams ripping the ball allowed Hopkins to pick it up and show and go to score in the corner Williams added the extras to make it 3-7 at the break .
The second half started and ovs attacked from the off scoring after about ten minutes of the second half after a well worked move allowed their centre to score outwide 10-7.
Watford responded well with a nice kick through from Williams who managed to chase and catch the ball on the bounce before beating his opposite number for pace and dotting down under the sticks he then added the extras 10-14 . The next 15 minutes were spent defending by both teams until ovs centre threw a pass that was read and stolen beautifully by Watford centre Portway just inside his own half who then showed a clean set of heels to dot down under the posts 10-21.Watford conceded a try in the dying minutes for ovs to make it 17-21 to Watford 2nds.
