Match Report By Stuart Ross
On Saturday, October 26th, 2024, Watford RFC’s U11 team proudly competed in the Defender Premiership Rugby Cup, facing off against five challenging teams. From the first game to the final whistle of their fifth, Watford’s players displayed remarkable teamwork, conviction, and skill. Their impressive ball-handling and tackling even earned the respect of the opposition, while the dedication of every player made Watford supporters proud to cheer on the team.
Leading the squad as co-captains were Joey and Dexter, joined by teammates Nathan, Zachery, Lana, Grace, Ryan, Andrea, George, Cordelia, and Edward. Together, they embodied the spirit of unity and enthusiasm, making it an unforgettable day for all involved.
After wrapping up the tournament, the U11s were treated to an exciting experience: watching the Saracens Men take on the Leicester Tigers in the Defender’s Cup. To top it all off, they had the thrilling opportunity to step onto the pitch after the match, where they passed the ball around and even met some of the Saracens players—a dream come true for these young athletes.
As a coach, I couldn’t be prouder of this fantastic group of boys and girls, who consistently show heart, dedication, and sportsmanship. Watford RFC’s U11s, comprised of Year 6 students, are always welcoming new players. If your child is interested in joining this thriving team, reach out to us at info@watfordrugbyclub.com.
