Watford Rugby Club’s youth team has announced Uponor as an official sponsor for the 2019/2020 season

Based in Watford, Uponor is a leading provider of plumbing and underfloor heating solutions.

In early 2019, the company was looking for ways to support the local community, so it teamed up with Watford Rugby Club to be an official sponsor for the new season.
Uponor donated £1,000 to pay for a new kit for 20 coaches and worked with the rugby club to create a kit design that everyone is happy with.

Fiona Casey, WRFC Youth Chairwoman, said: “We are thrilled that Uponor has chosen to sponsor our youth team. We have coaches that have been with the club throughout their rugby career, with our under 14’s coach only just retiring from being the second team captain of the senior team.

“The rugby club means a lot to everyone, and so to allow the coaches to play a role in designing the layout of the jackets and deciding what works best for them in all weather, was an extra special touch. “To be sponsored by a locally based, international company is really exciting for us. We sincerely thank Uponor and look forward to showcasing the kit in rugby games this season.”

Watford Rugby Club was established in 1973 and has members of every generation as

part of its community, making it a central part of Watford life and the perfect fit for Uponor’s local community sponsorship initiative.

Amar Dharwar, Marketing and Communications Manager, said: “We love being based in Watford and wanted a way to demonstrate that we are proud of our town, whilst also supporting the local community.

“Working with Watford Rugby Club is a great fit for us, and we can’t wait to cheer on some victories this season.”
