Festival of Grit: Watford U11s Rise to the Challenge

Pride, Progress, and Passion on Display at the U11s Tournament

Match report written by coach Steve.

*U11's festival tournament*

First off we played a well drilled Hertford team. There wasn't much difference in the teams more of the fact we let them run around and through our lack of a defensive line. We did put up a good fight and attacked well scoring some well worked tries but couldn't take the glory.
Next up Fuller's.
Already played them this year, our confidence was up. With smiles on our face and confidence in our ability we went out and didn't disappoint. Scoring a number of tries with no response in the first half.
The second half was a different matter, they did come out with intention but we held them strong and managed to confirm a good win with some great team play and fantastic tries.
Next game was Tabard, a game that got cancelled at the last tournament (possibly scared), both teams pumped up and again we let them run at us, letting unnecessary tries in, but we did battle back and ended up a close score line, maybe in their favour.
Our final game was Hitchin and we did think the last game, go all in! But it was a lot tougher game than we thought. They did put up a good battle and a battle it was.!
Tempers started to fly, tackles got high and stamina started to show.
But! A hard fought draw was well deserved.

Well done Watford, yet again improvement has been massive, proud of you all.

Player of the day: Zac for some great tries, tackles and all round display.
