It's now been two weeks since returning from our first tour with the under 12s. Some might say we've needed that long to recover before having enough energy to update our news page!

The May Bank Holiday weekend saw 12 members of the Under 12s travel with their families to Coombe Martin in North Devon as tourists to take part in the West Coast Rugby Rocks festival in Bideford. After a rather long drive, we all found ourselves in a very hilly, but very beautiful part of the world. Amazing views of the beach from the front lawn of the holiday park with a short walk to the small beach. After a trip to the chippy for tea, there was time for a drink or two in the bar, with the boys taking possession of the pool table!

Wearing their unmissable kit, with a theme of retro batman, the team accompanied by head coach "Matt-Man" and coach "Ro-Ben" had three matches on day 1 of the festival, one win, one draw and one loss. Day 2 had the final match of the pool, where we faced the unbeaten leaders of the group (they were still unbeaten after our match). Unfortunately in the quarter final the team had been taken down to 9 players following several injuries, so had to withdraw from the tournament. The boys all did themselves, their families and the club proud - doing their best on the field and impeccable behaviour both on and off the pitch. There was plenty of time for the boys to enjoy some time on the beach and in the sea on the Sunday afternoon and evening.

There are lots of thanks due for making the weekend a huge success. To the players and parents who have been fundraising all season for the tour kit; to the various schools for authorising a days absence for travelling to Devon; to Amanda for all her hard work organising the tour; to our coaches Matt and Ben, as well as coaches from the U11 who were also on tour who put in a great deal of effort to make the weekend a success - the list goes on....

We were quoted in the festival programme "The boys are looking forward to making memories with their best mates" and they sure did! Roll on Tour 2019!!!
