WELCOME TO WAFORD RFC UNDER 10s SQUAD

Welcome to the web page of Watford RFC Under 10 Squad.

We train and play on Sunday mornings from 10:30am until 12:00am.

This Squad is for children who turn 10 years old after the beginning of September. Usually, this means primary school Year 5.

We play under the 'New Rules of Play' for Under 10s, geared around limited contact, and a gentle introduction to rugby for younger children, i.e. tackling, but only the 'Mini' versions of scrums, rucks and mauls - and no line-outs and no kicking.

At Watford U10s, we are passionate about what we do, but what we do is not about winning matches at all costs. Our goal is to bring children into the wonderful world of Mini Rugby, and to allow them to experience the discipline, fellowship, fun and excitement to be had. In this way, a cohesive, happy and (hopefully) successful squad will develop over the long term.

Every child has a place in Mini Rugby.

Getting to the rules, you can bring your child to free training sessions before committing to joining the Squad, after which you will have to pay the subs and buy the kit.

A gum shield will be required from the outset, though. That's important!

Our 2022 /23 season have started, but children can join any time. If your child would like to try out, please contact us.
