What a game

There are no secrets between us and TeeVee’s, we have been playing each other for years. The kids know each other well as do the Coaches. It has always been nip and tuck between us. So a good close game looked on the cards.

The opening 10 minuets confirmed this with both sides cancelling each other out, Watford better in the scrums and in open play and TeeVee’s winning the line outs and the rucks.

When Watford did manage to get the ball to their backs they where largely kept under control by TeeVee’s well drilled defence. With plan A not working Watford where forced to do some thing we have never done before. After a high tackle on Jack (for which the lad was given a warning) Watford where given a penalty which was kicked by Niall. With their tails up Watford again forced a penalty just outside the 22, with TeeVee’s expecting the ball to go to Jack, Watford seemed to have played into their hands but unbeknown to TeeVee’s and the Watford coaches the lads had called a new play which saw the ball given to Jack who fooled every one before off loading to Charlie to crash over for Watfords first try, which Niall converted.
Not long after that Jack again set off down the wing only to be stopped by a crunching tackle from the lad who had earlier been warned. This resulted in the poor lad being sent from the field as a forced substitution and unable to come back on (had it been any other game he would have been sin binned. As the second tackle wasn’t that bad). With their cover gone Jack was able to run in for Watfords second try which was converted.

Half Time 17-0

From the restart TeeVee’s piled up field to score. After that the second half belonged to Watford. With TeeVee’s putting all their focus on Jack Watford used the extra space for Joe C to score. Another run from Joe ended with a nice off load to Jack to score his second of the game, Niall took care of the extras. David then showed his power by picking up a loose ball 35m out and driving over to make it 34-5 to Watford.
